Kenneth R. McIntosh, Jr. , President, Randy is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in business administration. Randy is responsible for maintaining the internal structure of BMS in order to assure the continuance of superior quality personal attention as BMS grows. Randy provides technical support in various areas such as website maintenance and administration.
Kenneth R. McIntosh, Founder. Ken began his health benefit plan career in 1973 while in hospital administration (so he knows the other side of the fence as well). Ken positioned his hospital into a self-funded benefit plan in 1974. He formed the Mississippi Hospital Association TPA (Diversified Services, Inc.) in 1977 and managed Diversified Services, Inc. from 1977 until he formed Benefit Management Systems, Inc. in 1990. Recognized as an expert in the field, Ken is frequently asked to speak nationally on the concepts and advantages of self-funding health benefits.
Karen Cooper is our Eligibility Coordinator. Karen brings 16 years of broad, invaluable experience to BMS. She is quite experienced in all aspects of self-funded benefit plans. Stephanie Gilcrease, Claims Manager, has been working with self-funded health benefit plans since 1990. She has vast experience in large case management and currently handles the day-to-day supervision of the extremely important BMS claims department. Barbara Agent, New Business Coordinator, brings 10 years experience in self-funded health benefit administration. She assists BMS clients in balancing the health benefit needs of its employees with ERISA guidelines. Personal client attention is paramount at BMS. For example, we maintain a staff ratio of 1 full time equivalent employee to 1,000 lives (far exceeding the industry standard of 1 FTE to 1,500 lives).
